Truth & Soul's first and only all female group, Lady, lead by the incomparable Nicole Wray, are back with a tribute to the 60 minute man. Usually the song to close one of Lady's live sets and have most people in the room jumping off the walls, Good Lovin, is an uptempo, fuzzed out burner in which Lady forgo the innuendoes and word play, and instead, praise a man that "knows how todo it right". This one is as much for the B-Boys & Girls on the floor as it is forthe two steppers. The flip side is also a tribute to a loved one, but a more G-rated kinda thing. "Sweet Lady" is a song about Mom, propelled by hard hitting drums while pretty glockenspiel, reverb soaked piano, and bouncy guitars all oat on top. The music sounds like a lost b-side from the "What's Going On" sessions, but the vocals make sure it's unmistakably Lady. Ms. Wray and the girls vocals on Sweet Lady are one of the most memorable melodies on their self-titled debut.
