The band features a stellar Finnish cast in Lötjönen (bass), Verneri Pohjola (trumpet), Mikko Innanen (baritone sax), Jussi Kannaste (tenor sax) and Joonas Riippa (drums). \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe Koma Saxo treatment of the track, dubbed here as \"Erzeben Koma\" is full of fire. Uplifting, a bit hectic, beat-driven and jubilant, Eldh's band of brothers double the ensemble heard on Side A, both sampling and adding new recording into the mix. The entire Koma Saxo live band is featured here: Eldh (bass\/production), Otis Sandsjö (tenor sax), Jonas Kullhammar (tenor sax), Innanen (alto sax) and Christian Lillinger (drums). At the time, the budding retro soul scene consisted mostly of organ quartets a la The Meters and of course, Sharon Jones \u0026amp; The Dap Kings were in the early days of their ascent to world domination.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLeon Michels, who was 19 when recording Sounding Out The City began, had just released Thunder Chicken, the first record by his high school band The Mighty Impe- rials. He purchased a Tascam 388, an 80s 1\/4” reel to reel 8 track intended for home recordings, and began recording music in a 10x10 box with no windows that also doubled as his childhood bedroom.
