Dopewax is back with...

Dopewax is back with Round 2 of what's fast becoming a newly-acclaimed series.

The debut volume of Dopewax Approved: Kenny Dope and Friends, originally released in 2016, gathered tracks from international and domestic artists signed to the label from all walks of the electronic life. The collection spent multiple weeks at the #1 Traxsource album spot delighting DJs from multiple genres and music fans alike. With the Volume 2 being released initially on vinyl, it only seems fitting it followed suit stylistically. After all, as the saying goes. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Twenty-four tracks, half of which are yet to be released, Volume 2 is contained on 6 discs whose music runs the gamut. It includes the tech-house workings of DJ Tommy Bones, with his jammin' new "TrixR4Kidz" and "8080" which was supported by the likes of Kenny Dope, Todd Terry, Carl Cox, Oscar G, and many more. Some Afro-house goodness can be found from premier South African producers, namely Sir Nova III and Samurai Yasusa feat. Olwethu, both mixed by Kenny Dope, on "Copenhagen" and "In Need" respectively.

Smoothing things out with a little Soulful House are talented East Coast producer Ant LaRock featuring Zhao's hot weather blazed up "The Question", Sterling Ensemble feat. Lee Wilson's "Everybody" and Madjik's "Forceful Rhythm" both the Kenny Dope Mix and NYC House mainstay Mike Delgado remix. New to the Dopewax family are West Coast producers and founders of Moulton Music, Homero Espinosa and Allen Craig who here team up to bring us the jazzy "Rocking Back and Forth" and the deeper "No No". NYC tech producer Alexander Technique also debuts with us, delivering some nice dark percussion on "Dirty Ass Beats" and "Big Up". Jhothi's "Below" sees its resurgence on this comp if you're looking to continue hopping down the techno trail.

And what would a dance compilation be without some good ol' straight up House! Here you'll find some new gems of the genre's truest heroes and defenders, starting with the catchy future-classic "I Am House" by Sted-E & Hybrid Heights feat. the legendary Crystal Waters remixed by Mr. V & Reelsoul, the deeper Cornelius SA remix of "Freedom House" by MDW & Raul Soto, a beautiful new jam by House great, and on the heels of his #1 single "Piano Groove" DJ Gomi feat Antonio Hart comes back to bless us with another super saxy follow up "Bad Love". On the more track-y side of things you'll find Dopewax newcomers & UK producers Jay Potter and DJ Queen B with "Satisfy" and "Y'all Groovin", Greco (NYC)'s "Hype", as well as the return of Benji Candelario & Wayne Rollins feat Cinnamon Brown's "Paradise", and Kenny Dope's Top 10 Billboard Club Hit original "Be Your Freak" featuring Josh Milan of Honeycomb Music and former half of legendary Soulful House duo, Blaze.

Kenny Dope and Friends is a testament to the commitment to House sounds and people who make them. As Dopewax loves to champion the House sound, an electronic album peppered by diversity becomes the aural vision of its master compiler Kenny Dope and shows the various styles and the many facets of this thing we call Dance Music. We're proud to continue his legacy by representing the very best artists who genuinely pour their hearts into creating quality tracks that in the end, truly bring DJ's sets alive.
