The A side sees the ice cold early funk jam ‘Bold Soul Sister’ featuring the trademark funk guitar stylings of Albert Collins, originally released on the Blue Thumb in 69 and favoured by hip hop producers for its wealth of sampling gold. The flip side houses ‘Somebody (Somewhere) Needs You’ a rare and pricey Northern Soul number penned by Motown songwriter Frank Wilson that goes for £150+ on Discogs. A 50 year anniversary release in a picture sleeve.

He was able to find a brand new copy of the original 45 on Discogs, and made the move to purchase it to have a high-quality audio restoration from the vinyl transferred into digital files to then be cut to lacquer. After acquiring the original version of the 45 it was discovered that the versions on the 45 were just the 12” single versions but faded out to make them fit on a 45. Kay-Dee Records presents “HAZE”, this new release was produced by YOSUKE TOMINAGA and it was recorded in Tokyo’s club called THE ROOM.
